Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has heaped the praise on Eden Hazard, who is enjoying a fine run of form in a new central role.
As reported by TalkSPORT, Conte told reporters after the 1-1 draw at Anfield that the Belgian is enjoying a good moment in his career.
Now I think Eden is in really good form and I think he likes to play as a striker. There is a good link with Alvaro and for me also it’s a great opportunity to play with two different systems.
Following Chelsea’s switch to a 3-5-2 system Hazard has played further forward, alongside Alvaro Morata as a second striker.
It’s a position that Hazard has played several occasions before in his career, most notably during his time with Lille, but he has never played centrally over an extended period for Chelsea.
An injury while on international duty had halted his start to the season, but Hazard has made up for lost time with a number of scintillating performances.
Hazard was at the heart of every Chelsea attack once again on Saturday night at Anfield. Despite not scoring on the night, the Belgian was one of Chelsea’s stand out performers.
