Former Crystal Palace striker and now pundit Clinton Morrison has stated he believes current Crystal Palace loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek is just as good as £40 million signing Tiemoue Bakayoko, the Daily Star report.
Loftus-Cheek has been Crystal Palace’s stand out performer so far this season, in what has been a stuttering start for the Eagles.
Bakayoko failed to make the recent France squad after a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge since joining from Monaco.
Loftus-Cheek, 21, impressed in his first two caps for England against Germany and Brazil, after getting his first senior call up, and Morrison believes Loftus-Cheek has the potential to become a Chelsea regular.
Talking to AskFans, Morrison said:
I think he’s as good as Bakayoko is now who Chelsea paid a lot of money for. But he wants to play every week and he will thrive at Palace so it’s a good learning curve for him. I think he will finish the season off with us and then go back to Chelsea and make himself a regular.
The Englishman will now be heading back to Selhurst Park where Roy Hodgson will be hoping he can continue his good form for his country and help Crystal Palace in their relegation battle, starting this weekend against Everton.
