Paul Pogba continued his recovery from a hamstring injury with another accomplished midfield display during Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Frenchman produced a powerful performance on his first game back from injury against Newcastle United last weekend but came off mid-way through the second half.
But he was able to complete the full game against Brighton as he once again skilfully turned the screw in the middle, with Ashley Young‘s deflected strike giving the hosts a 1-0 win.
Pogba’s numbers from the game tell you all you need to know about what was a commanding, innovative showing.

Perhaps the most striking aspect of the 24-year-old’s game was that it didn’t even come close to his top bracket of performances in a Man United shirt.
This ought to be expected from somebody playing their third game in a week after spending over two months on the sidelines, I guess, yet it didn’t stop him from controlling the game with swagger and intent throughout.
Even during the latter stages he was the heartbeat – the primary source of inspiration in a performance that lacked verve at times – and supporters can only pray he remains fit as a busy December period approaches.
