Manchester United and Manchester City are set for a Wembley showdown in the FA Cup final, at the start of June.
Erik ten Hag’s men will be looking to add to the Carabao Cup, won against Newcastle, earlier this season.
A Manchester Derby on such a big stage has left excitement levels at fever pitch, for both sets of supporters.
However, the announcement of rail strikes on the day of the final have dampened travelling fans’ spirits, with no trains running between London and Manchester.
The FA had previously made the decision to move the kick off time from 17:30 to 15:00 GMT, in order to help fans with their travel arrangements and ease policing issues.
Now, rail strikes have caused uproar for fans travelling down from Manchester, leaving the FA with a problem to solve.
It has now been announced that the Football Association will be laying on coach travel for both sets of fans, to combat the disruption.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the coach is priced at £60 for adults and £40 for under-16s, with the exact number of coaches yet to be announced.
Finer details of the arrangements, such as departure points and times, are still being worked on but it has been confirmed both sets of fans will be kept apart.
Each club is also laying on coach travel for fans, with United offering seats at £50 per adult and £40 for under 16s.
United have set aside 20 coaches, which seat an average of 50 people.
Further announcements are expected around alternative travel in due course but it remains a real cause for concern for fans who do not get the coach.
Missing out on a coach could lead to fans having to pull the plug on attending the game. With hotel costs added to travel either side of the game, the costs may become too much for some.
