Manchester United face Sevilla in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final this evening.
Erik ten Hag’s men inexplicably threw away a two goal lead in the first leg, having controlled the majority of the game at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard’s late double has left the tie in the balance with United knowing they will have to win in Seville, if they are to qualify.
Injuries picked up by centre-back partners Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, with the later ruled out for the rest of the season, have made the task even harder.
United will also be without talisman Bruno Fernandes, whose extremely harsh booking picked up in the first leg could now prove pivotal.
However, United were boosted by the addition of Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Marcel Sabitzer to the travelling squad, who have all recovered from knocks.
Erik ten Hag is expected to stick with his tried and tested 4-3-3 formation, which has served him well this season.
David de Gea will start in front of a back four that will include Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, with Shaw expected to retain his spot at left-back.
Ten Hag will have to decide between Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot at right-back, with both in strong form.
The full backs have moved into midfield in possession in recent weeks and the extra body has given United better control of games.
Fernandes’ absence will see Christian Eriksen line up in front of Casemrio in midfield, with Fred or Sabitzer, who scored United’s two goals in the first leg, expected to provided the energy and apply the press on Sevilla’s build up.
In attack, Marcus Rashford is expected to return to the line up, having missed United’s last two games through a slight groin strain picked up in the win against Everton.
Anthony Martial will spearhead United’s attack, with Antony hoping to continue his fine form from off the right flank.
Jadon Sancho will be waiting in the wings if Rashford isn’t deemed fit enough to start, or indeed finish the 90 minutes and potentially beyond.
Key to qualification will be how the centre-back pairing handle the crackling atmosphere in Spain, with composure when playing out from the back vital to Ten Hag’s plans.
Pace up front will certainly test a shaky Sevilla defence who have conceded 44 goals in La Liga and looked less than water tight at Old Trafford.
