What a 72 hours that was. Arsenal fans can breathe a heavy sigh of relief on Tuesday night as Arsenal officially admitted it made a mistake for it’s misjudgment of feeling towards the Super League – a subsequent withdrawal from the proposed competition is fact.
As a result of listening to you and the wider football community over recent days we are withdrawing from the proposed Super League.
We made a mistake, and we apologise for it.

Arsenal join Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United in all announcing intention to withdraw and not be a part of the Super League.
The wounds are certainly fresh and sore as news broke, but it appears that no sanctions will come from UEFA after an admission of wrongdoing, meaning the Europa League semi-final is likely to still go ahead against Villareal.
What now of the flop that is the Super League? Have all the cards been played on an idea like this ever happening again? Will the apparent leaders Real Madrid back down? It appears without any of England’s ‘top clubs’ the idea is dead in the water before it ever really got started.
For now, this one is for all Arsenal fans – each and everyone of you won, your voice mattered.
