Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly still has his eye on Erling Haaland despite the club employing the likes of Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani.
Before joining Borussia Dortmund, the young striker was said to be wanted at Old Trafford and it’s believed attempts were made to make that happen.
In the end Solskjaer couldn’t get the reunion he desired with Haaland as the German giants got their man instead.
United would go on to sign Odion Ighalo on loan before later signing Cavani on a free transfer just this past summer transfer window.
It’s safe to say Solskjaer hasn’t gone for a long-term replacement since missing out on Haaland and reportedly there’s an explanation for that.
Re: Haaland
Of course Ole G wants Erling Haaland. He is one of the world’s most exciting players AND Ole worked with him at Molde.
But it’s much more likely that Sancho will be sold to England this summer

Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford are also two players who can and have filled that striker role so Manchester United have options in comparison to the past.
The former of the pair, in particular, is one who is expected to grow into and fulfil his potential in that position so talk of Haaland is a little strange.
However, United fans wouldn’t complain about having the young Norweigan on board and he’d definitely add even more firepower so it makes sense Solskjaer would still be keen.
