Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has called on Paul Pogba to take action if he hopes to save his career at Old Trafford in light of some recent drama.
The transfer saga with the talented Frenchman never seems to come to a complete end and on the eve of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men taking on RB Leipzig in a crucial, season-defining clash, Mino Raiola revealed his client no longer wants to stay.
The mischievous agent insisted Pogba should be sold in the January transfer window for the sake of all three parties involved and fans did not take that comment lightly.
There was incredible frustration with the timing of Raiola’s comments and all it did was distract from United’s fixture in which they ended up crashing out of the Champions League.
Pogba missed out on the starting eleven for the Leipzig clash and many believe he wouldn’t have had his agent stayed quiet.
According to Manchester Evening News, Scholes said: “Paul pays this man to represent him. He represents him badly because Paul is a good lad.
“Everyone looking from the outside, because it’s his agent, they’ll think he’s a bad lad, disrupting the dressing room, he isn’t. Paul has two options: tell him to shut up, or he sacks him.”
In truth, while that is good enough, the more correct thing to do to repair the relationship with the club and fans is to publicly apologise for his agent’s actions and confirm his desire to remain at Old Trafford.
Anything less would only be a temporary solution as rumours would always remain over his head, even if he agreed to a contract extension.
