Interesting quotes from the agent of exiled Arsenal star Mesut Ozil have been published via Football.London, and the threat of the truth being revealed ‘one day’ has peaked plenty of attention.
Dr Erkut Sogut, Ozil’s agent suggested the truth behind the playmaker’s absence in the squad this season will become apparent, in time;
“Mesut cannot speak now because of confidentiality, but one day he will, and we’ll see what people think.”
Sogut also took aim at Arsenal’s behaviour since winning the FA Cup, referencing mass redundancies and the well-publicised departure of club mascot Gunnersaurus;
“You wouldn’t expect a club with class to make 55 people redundant just after winning the FA Cup or sacking a mascot after 27 years of service, just before making a £45 million signing [of Thomas Partey].”
“And it doesn’t help if people from outside the club speak on their behalf. It unfortunately gives a very bad picture of the club which we are not used to having at a team like Arsenal.”
“I would be very concerned for any club if someone repeatedly spoke on their behalf and clearly had a significant influence on and off the pitch.”
It’s been several months since Ozil last featured for Arsenal, and having been left out of both the Europa League and Premier League squads, there’s little to suggest he’ll ever be seen for the Gunners again.
