In winning for a third straight Premier League game, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now within touching distance of the Champions League chasing pack, but with ground to make up, the Gunners ned to just keep winning and hope for slip-ups ahead.
Leicester were enduring a tricky Premier League restart, but an impressive 3-0 win over Crystal Palace has ensured Brendan Rodgers’ side remain third.
Nicolas Pepe looks set to be back in the Arsenal starting line up vs Leicester, having missed the victory over Wolves due to his wife giving birth.
Alexandre Lacazette is set for a starting spot too, having made a goal scoring cameo from the bench against Wolves, with Eddie Nketiah making way.
Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi are both still set to be left out of the Arsenal match day squad. Bernd Leno, Calum Chambers Pablo Mari and Gabriel Martinelli all remain out until next season.
On a somewhat side subject ahead of kick-off, Mikel Arteta was asked in the press-conference, via Arsenal’s official website, on if he reckons Lionel Messi will come to the Premier League, amid talk of unrest at Barcelona;
“I have no clue! It’s not a question for us, but obviously, if he could come and join this country, I think it would be a huge plus for the country, for the league and for everybody to have the opportunity to enjoy him.”
