Reports in Greece suggest that the Gunners’ head coach has tasked his club to scout a player who made a starring performance at the Emirates last week.
The Greek publication sdna.gr has claimed that Mikel Arteta has tasked his club with scouting Olympiakos midfielder Mady Camara.
The 23-year-old Guinean is a defensive midfielder who worked tremendously hard for his team on the night and looked solid on the ball.
Camara was the subject of a reported €10 million bid from Premier League team Sheffield United in January but the move was rejected.
Olympiakos are said to value the player closer to €20 million and the report claims that Arteta was impressed with the player ahead of the summer window.
Arsenal’s midfield does need a bit of a refresh. Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, and Matteo Guendouzi are all good players in their own right but it’s hard to make a working combination between them all that is both strong defensively and capable on the ball.
