Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has confirmed that he made contact with PSG regarding Chelsea target Edinson Cavani in the January transfer window.
The Blues were linked with a move for the Uruguay international, with PSG reportedly wanting €30m for his services.
Fellow London club Arsenal were also said to be interested in striking a deal with the French club but the striker ended up remaining with the Ligue 1 champions and leaders.
As reported on GFFN, who quote Sky Italia, Radrizzani said:
The PSG president gave me the possibility to check possible interest with Cavani’s brother.
Sadly, the negotiation never went any further.

Cavani is a striker with a huge reputation and a great goalscoring record, proven by him scoring 42 times in the Champions League in his club career (Transfermarkt).
The Blues looked likely to offload Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi in the January transfer window, meaning bringing in Cavani could have given them a much-needed replacement.
However, news of Leeds’ interest may come as a surprise to many Chelsea fans, mainly because the Yorkshire side currently play in English football’s second division.
For that reason, we believe that the Whites would not have had a great chance of securing his signature, because he is a player who has been playing at the highest level for the majority of his career, shown by his time at Napoli and PSG.
We believe that bringing Cavani to Stamford Bridge in the future could help with the development of current forward Tammy Abraham, who may end up benefitting from the Uruguay international’s immense experience.
