Arsenal came from behind to beat Everton 3-2 in the Premier League at the Emirates.

Arsenal needed a strong start here but they were behind within a minute. A simple freekick was floated into Arsenal’s box but immediately, something was off. Sead Kolasinac was about five yards deeper than the rest of the defenders as the majority of the Everton attack was played onside. The ball fell to Dominic Calvert-Lewin who headed home with ease.

The Gunners worked hard to find a swift equaliser but could only create a couple of half-chances. Shkodran Mustafi headed over from a Nicolas Pepe corner before Pepe himself whipped a shot into Jordan Pickford’s hands.

But the breakthrough soon came. Granit Xhaka played it down the line for the substitute Bukayo Saka who had time to whip the ball in. Saka’s cross was incredible as the ball was laid on a plate for Eddie Nketiah to grab his first Premier League goal at the Emirates.

Just moments later and it was 2-1. David Luiz found space on the halfway line and played a wonderful through ball for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he cut in from the left. The Gunners captain had Nketiah alongside him but he never looked in doubt as he made it 2-1.

The Gunners were flying and didn’t want the half to end. That attitude soon changed when a corner came into their box in first-half stoppage time. The ball came out and was half-volleyed back through for Richarlison in the six-yard box. The Brazilian got a glancing touch on the ball and that was enough to take it past Bernd Leno and into the back of the net.

The second half began just as the first did: with a goal inside the opening minute. This time, it was Arsenal’s turn as Nicolas Pepe found space down the right flank. The Ivorian cut onto his left before whipping a ball in for Aubameyang to head into the ground and the back of the net.

Arsenal pushed forward in search of a fourth goal but the game descended into a frantic, sloppy affair. The Gunners just couldn’t get going in attack and had to rely on Bernd Leno at the other end. The German pulled off a good stop on the 70th-minute mark to keep the score at 3-2.

With five minutes left on the clock, it was almost 4-2. The Gunners seized upon some sloppy Everton defending as Lucas Torreira won the ball back high up the pitch. He found Nketiah who whipped the first-time shot around Pickford only for it to cannon off the underside of the crossbar and away.

Everton burst forward in search of an equaliser and came so close to grabbing one. Calvert-Lewin had a couple of excellent chances as he dominated in the air but it wasn’t to be as the Gunners closed out to secure all three points.
