Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that they will make a call on the fitness of Tammy Abraham on the day of the game against Aston Villa.
The Blues face Villa in the Premier League on Wednesday night and Abraham is a doubt for the match, after missing the defeat to West Ham through injury over the weekend.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Lampard said this:
We will make the call tomorrow, he has a little bit of pain. He was in good form, he is always keen, he is trying his best.
You can’t isolate it to one player and game. He can’t just be the reason for losing the game [against West Ham]. He is an important player for us. We have competition in that area.

Chelsea did lack Abraham’s presence in the box against West Ham but, like Lampard says, you cannot put the defeat down to just that. It was a factor, but a team of Chelsea’s quality should be able to beat West Ham even with one of their key players missing through injury.
Hopefully Abraham will be able to make it for the clash with Villa on Wednesday and lead the line, as he looks to catch up with Jamie Vardy at the top of the Premier League scoring charts. He is currently three goals behind the Leicester hitman at this moment in time.
