Manchester United and Arsenal will battle for the signature of Juventus defender Merih Demiral in the January transfer window should the defender continue to sit on the sidelines at his new club.
The Turkey international completed a move to Turin over the summer for a fee of £15.5m over the summer but has only managed one appearance in all competitions so far this term.
It is claimed that Demiral will seek a move elsewhere in January if he continues to be ostracised under manager Maurizio Sarri.
According to Dean Jones from Bleacher Report, United and Arsenal are both interested in launching a bid for the 21-year-old over the January transfer window.
Juventus defender Merih Demiral will be open to the idea of a move in Jan if he can't break into team. I'm told there is some interest from Arsenal and Man Utd.
Juve not super keen to sell him though at this stage— Dean Jones (@DeanJonesBR) November 1, 2019
Despite these claims, United’s primary emphasis in January will be on signing a striker following a start to the season that has seen the club’s attack falter in quite dramatic fashion.
