Manchester United star Luke Shaw has reportedly fallen behind Brandon Williams in terms of selection with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearly a fan.
Supporters themselves have also quickly warmed up to the youngster’s aggressive and brave manner but most importantly they’ve been impressed by his fearless performances.
Shaw has suffered from an injury for much of the season with Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo initially taking turns covering for him.
However, Solskjaer soon gave Williams a shot in the first-team and he hasn’t looked back since, grabbing every opportunity given to him.
Such has been his form that fans haven’t even missed the former Southampton man and have even called for the 19 year old to remain in the starting XI as much as possible.
According to the Telegraph, Solskjaer is so impressed with Williams he’s no longer planning to buy a full-back in January and has even told Shaw that the academy product is ahead in the pecking order for selection.
While the more experienced Englishman was known in the past for his attacking talents, that’s no longer the case and he’s now a far more reserved defender.
Williams though has impressed in both boxes, even netting his first senior goal against Sheffield United just last weekend.
