Ferguson explains how Man United can achieve success once again

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has reassured fans the sufferings of the past few seasons will not last forever.

Since the legendary Scot’s retirement, his former side have failed to win the Premier league and have struggled to enjoy continued success.

United are on their fourth manager in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho all coming and leaving in the past few years.

Despite the lack of title silverware, the club have still won a few trophies such as the League Cup, FA Cup and Europa League as well as the Community Shield if anyone wants to count that too.

Solskjaer’s reign started brilliantly as they brushed aside opponent after opponent but soon they declined terribly and lately there have been signs of a rise again if they can be consistent.

According to the club’s official website, Ferguson said: “Well, we’ve got a great structure at the club. We’ve got a lot of good young players coming through, that’s never changed.

“There’s always that challenge, and what’s happening at the moment is a challenge, but with a bit of luck – and a bit of perseverance – we’ll sort it out.”

The board appear to be absolutely convinced Solskjaer is the right man so it’s unlikely he’ll be sacked unless something goes horribly wrong this season.

A top four spot will be difficult but it isn’t completely out of reach and if Manchester United can build momentum at the right time, they’ll quickly climb up the table.

Ferguson’s message of perseverance doesn’t only apply to Solskjaer but also to the fans who will have to endure teething problems until the team is in full flow.
