Change to 4-3-3. Bring in Matic to sit with McSuace & Pogba pushed up. Sign a CDM & a winger/forward in Jan. Preferably someone experienced who the squad can learn off.
Change training sessions to more tactics rather than running.

Stop 4 2 3 1 and start playing 4 3 3 or even 4 2 1 3 with Pogba behind the front 3.

It is strange that Solskjaer has ended up sticking with the 4-2-3-1, just like Jose Mourinho did, that rigid, seemingly sauceless formation which, whilst ostensibly being about balance, seems to totally defang the attack when the midfield cannot move the ball fast enough.
Moving back to a 4-3-3 – the system Solskjaer initially used after becoming caretaker manager – would immediately change the shape and feel of this team, creating new avenues, different angles. With Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba both back and fully fit, this change could – could! – see United create a few more good chances.
