Manchester United fans were largely wallowing in their sorrow following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s disappointing team news for the clash against Liverpool.
David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard were all but ruled out for the hotly anticipated fixture while the likes of Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bissaka weren’t guaranteed to start.
With United currently sitting in 12th place, it very much is the worst time to take on the in form league leaders.
Solskjaer badly needs a win to get the pressure off his shoulders but it’s difficult to imagine he’ll be getting that against the Reds.
However, if he does, it’s the type of fixture that could kickstart a season should it end well for United.
Ole’s naivety has epitomised his reign on a weekly basis. Pogba playing against Rochdale then missing key games like Liverpool shows how naive he actually is to risk him in that sort of competition. #mufc https://t.co/CUBGmusjNT

Sergio Romero has proven himself as an adequate backup to De Gea but Manchester United have sorely missed Pogba of late.
Perhaps a Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic midfield partnership will help Solskjaer if he plans on sitting deep and counter-attacking as they are both very attentive to their defensive duties.
Many are anticipating a Liverpool onslaught so the legendary Norwegian will have to come up with some tactical masterplan if he hopes to survive this game.
