Manchester United star Paul Pogba could reportedly remain at Old Trafford for the long-term if all things go to plan.
The sensational Frenchman has been endlessly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer but the transfer window has now officially shut.
It seems impossible United will sell in January so one can assume Pogba will be at the club for at least the next 12 months.
However, it appears the club are working on ensuring he remains far beyond that and end rumours over a Madrid purchase once and for all.
The former Juventus star has actually been criticised quite a bit this season for failing to hit top form though it’s fair to say his teammates haven’t either.
According to AS, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has begun talks with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola over a new deal that would see him end all hope of joining Madrid in the future.
The academy product has a lot of love for the Red Devils but it’s certainly his desire to win trophies and regularly play in the Champions League that sees him hoping for a move.
It’s also been a dream of his to play for Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane’s leadership so by all means, this transfer saga isn’t over.
