Manchester United fans are largely in favour of the club’s decision to end talks with Juventus over a potential swap deal involving Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.
The two clubs had been in negotiations over the last week, with Lukaku, who wants a move to Italy, agreeing terms with Juventus.
However, United eventually pulled out of the deal due to it becoming clear that Dybala was not fully committed to leaving Turin, with the Argentine demanding a salary of £18m to move to Old Trafford.
While the initial reaction to the news was frenzied, we asked supporters on the morning after – giving you all a chance to sleep on it, to see things for what they are in the cold light of a Monday morning – whether they agreed with United’s decision.
Do you think United were right to pull out of the Dybala/Lukaku deal, or should they have met the Argentine’s demands? #mufc pic.twitter.com/KoL2ULb2tQ

The response was almost unanimous.
Di Maria. Sanchez. If we keep giving people who dont wanna join Utd a shitload of money to play with us the club is gonna get rinsed. Yeah we need him and if he comes we’ll be glad. But if he’s demanding crazy wages (which he’s been offered) and still considering then leave it

Yes, only players wanting to play for us should come.

Ofcourse! It was a right decision. We want players who want to truly represent united and play like their life is on line. He was already not sure and then if you pay me I will be sure are never right type of players.

This time #mufc board did the right thing. We should focus on bringing hungry players who will wear this famous red shirt with pride and honour.

It was clear from the start that Dybala did not want to trade Italy for the freezing climate of Northern England. His preference has always been to remain with The Old Lady, with his next move being Spain – a country which speaks his language and plays the kind of football that suits him.
As we have seen with Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao, signing South Americans who do not really want to be here never ends well. The club appears to have learned from those mistakes.
