Manchester United have ended their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen because they feel the Dane prefers a move to Spain.
Reports over the last few days suggested that Spurs were willing to sell Eriksen, who only has a year left on his contract, and that Man United were the only serious interested party with less than 48 hours until the transfer deadline.
Real Madrid had expressed interest in Eriksen, but they have cooled their pursuit of the £50m midfielder as they place emphasis on signing Donny van de Beek.
According to the BBC and other reputable outlets, United have ended their bid to sign Eriksen amid concerns he would prefer a move to Spain.

United look like they will not make any further additions this summer, which is sad, but perhaps it shows that the club has learned a vital lesson.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that he will only sign players who are fully committed to the Norwegian’s project at Old Trafford this summer. In the case of both Eriksen and Paulo Dybala, neither player was anywhere near fully committed. Dybala straight up did not want to come and Eriksen has his heart set on Real.
They are two exciting, brilliant players, but that does not automatically make them United material.
