Chelsea will look at re-signing Nathan Ake at the end of the the current transfer ban as a replacement for David Luiz, if Frank Lampard feels he needs to strengthen his defensive options.
That’s according to Matt Law from the Telegraph, who suggests Lampard will activate Ake’s £40million buy-back clause should he decide that he needs to replace Luiz following his move to Arsenal.
So would it be a good idea for Lamps to re-sign the centre-back at the end of the ban?

It’s certainly an interesting topic.
Ake has clearly flourished following his move to Bournemouth two years ago, becoming a consistent figure at the back for Eddie Howe’s side.
The Netherlands international has made 79 appearances in his two season’s as a Cherries player, whilst also impressing in his short loan spell on the South coast the previous campaign.
But a move for him would only be worth it IF it becomes apparent that we’re in need of defensive reinforcements over the course of the season. While he would no doubt bolster our defensive options, signing him to become a squad rotation player would only stall his career in my opinion.
