Manchester United fans have raised their concerns despite a perfect pre-season tour as issues with their injury prone defence has continued in the shape of Eric Bailly.
The talented Ivorian has struggled to make his mark since arriving at Old Trafford and much of that has had to do with his fitness problems.
United have won every match of their summer so far and yet it has been marred by the powerful centre-back’s injury.
Bailly was taken off the pitch during the 2-1 victory over Tottenham and it sparked a conversation over how the club will now be even more desperate to bring in a proven defender as links to Harry Maguire continue to be made.
In truth the Red Devils have been patient enough with the former Villareal man and although he’s been unfortunate, he’s also been unreliable.
Eric Bailly injured again. Gutted for him but not surprised.
Need for a centre half increases.
Do we risk letting Axel go out on loan?
Leicester adding an extra £10m onto Maguire's price tag. #mufc

Eric Bailly again, body strength of a Hobnob. Chin him off he’s a liability.

Perfection for Manchester United in pre-season. The lads from the Academy are giving a good account of the themselves. Crooked Bailly has been the only negative for me. #MUTOUR

The reason Eric Bailly was dropped multiple times last season is due to his injuries. He cannot be trusted to start multiple games in a row and the back four needs to be consistent so that a solid base can be created. Ultimately, his career at United will be over this season.

Victor Lindelof is in desperate need of a top quality partner and perhaps Maguire is the man to answer the call.
Time will tell whether Leicester City will eventually give in but should Manchester United fail to sign anyone else, it could end up being a disastrous summer transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could also soften the blow of splashing the cash by selling a few of his centre-backs as the club are overstocked in that department with six options for two starting positions.
