Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged fans to be patient as he searches for new stars who will fit his style of football.
The legendary Norwegian has insisted he’s not been frustrated at all so far in the transfer market despite only making two signings this summer.
In arguably United’s most important transfer window since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, they’ve only managed to bring in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
It’s safe to say many expected far more activity, both in and out, with perhaps Solskjaer himself also anticipating a better window.
The Red Devils are understood to be working on numerous deals such as bringing in the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Sean Longstaff but these reports have been going on all summer with no end product in sight yet.
According to Sky Sports, Ole said: “I believe in these players. I’m sure we could do well, but it’s both short term and long term.
“When we’re working on something that means we’ve identified something that could improve us. If it’s to be or not to be we will see.
“We’ve got to be patient, it’s a long haul and it’s very important we get the right ones in.
“When you hit a hurdle you can’t just jump on a different path. I’ve not had a frustrated feeling at all.”
Solskjaer could simply be refusing to publicly show his frustrations as Jose Mourinho did so often but perhaps behind the scenes he’s disappointed with the lack of incomings and maybe even outgoings.
Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia are the only two players to leave this summer and that was only because their contracts expired.
So far, Manchester United have struggled to offload anyone of note and that could be one of the reasons they haven’t broken the bank on any significant signings.
