Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was rather tight-lipped about why Romelu Lukaku once again did not train with the Manchester United squad ahead of Saturday’s pre-season clash with Inter Milan.
Lukaku is keen for a move to Inter and talks have been underway for some time, with new boss Antonio Conte stating in Friday’s press conference that signing the Belgian was a priority.
The striker, according to Solskjaer, has continued to struggle with injury problems, and as such will not take part against his potential future employers in Singapore on Saturday.

This is an interesting response from Solskjaer because Lukaku’s injury was initially described as a niggle, something very minor, something which kept him out of the Perth Glory clash but would not preclude him from playing against Leeds.
He did not play against Leeds. Now he is not playing Inter. All while negotiations between the two clubs have been ramping up. You have to wonder whether Solskjaer is going by the party line or telling the actual truth.
United are open to selling, but only if they make a profit on the £75m paid for Lukaku in 2017. Inter’s current offer stands at €70m. Not only is this figure not enough; United also want more of the money upfront, with Inter proposing a three-year payment plan involving a season-long loan deal.
