Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with surprise moves for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko over the past 24 hours.
The former AS Monaco man was sent out on loan to AC Milan last year and has recently returned to Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season after the Italian side decided against making his move a permanent one.
Along with Chelsea’s rivals, the 24-year-old has also been linked with French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
However, it appears as though a move to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals does not look likely.
A senior source from Manchester United has ruled out a possible Old Trafford move for Bakayoko, the Evening Standard report.
The Red Devils are thought to be keen on adding to their central midfield ranks, but Bakayoko isn’t thought to be on their radar.
Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff and Everton’s Idrissa Gueye are thought to be two ball-playing midfielders Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on signing ahead of the new campaign.
The future of Bakayoko remains uncertain, with new boss Frank Lampard willing to give multiple returning Chelsea loanees a chance to impress in pre-season, so the Frenchman could well end up featuring regularly for the Blues in the upcoming campaign.
