Manchester United fans were thoroughly pleased with Anthony Martial following his goalscoring performance in the win vs Tottenham.
The clash between the two Premier League sides was a story of two different halves but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men came out on top in the end with a 2-1 win.
The magical Frenchman opened the scoring with a good effort after a superb run and couldn’t have done more to prove his worthiness in a central role.
Martial has played mostly as a left-winger since arriving from Ligue 1 but at the start of his United career he ran the show as a striker.
It seems Solskjaer plans on returning him to such a role and supporters certainly agree with that strategy as they praised the former AS Monaco man’s display.
Loving this Anthony Martial in pre-season. He's looking considerably fitter shutting down players and winning the ball back and looks way more comfortable as a striker than out wide with his great runs in behind and is always an option in possession!

Don't just look at Martial's goal but look at his movement, his runs and the way he is dragging Tottenham's backline back and forth. He has world class attributes and he should be cultivated as a striker at the club.

Anthony however, has plenty of competition in the form of Marcus Rashford who himself has been outstanding in a central role so it’s likely the pair will have to share minutes there whilst alternating with the left-wing position too.
Either way, the competition will certainly benefit the Red Devils and Ole could get extra out of them by pitting them against one another for their preferred position.
