Manchester United are reportedly accelerating plans to sign Newcastle United star Sean Longstaff with their pre-season tour just on the horizon.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men travel next week, which was when he previously publicly stated he had hoped all his signings would arrive by.
Negotiations for Daniel James were pretty swift as it was only held up by the unfortunate and unexpected death of his father.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s transfer was the one holding up the rest of United’s transfer plans and so Longstaff was put on the back-burner.
Solskjaer is said to be keen on a few more signings still and given no one has departed yet, there are expectations of that happening soon too.
According to Manchester Evening News, having concluded Wan-Bissaka’s transfer, the Red Devils are now prioritising Sean’s signing as they hope he will feature on their pre-season tour from next week.
Given Newcastle have recently lost highly rated boss Rafa Benitez, it is the perfect time to destabilise them further and conclude the deal for the Englishman.
The Magpies appear to be in a selling mood too with Ayoze Perez understood to be on his way to Leicester City so Manchester United may get their wish after all.
