Leicester City forward Demarai Gray has insisted that he was not worried about Harry Maguire joining Manchester United this summer.
Man United have placed serious emphasis on signing a central defender for the last two summer transfer windows, with Maguire serving as the club’s primary target.
However, United’s latest bid for Maguire is thought to total around £70m, but Leicester want closer to £90m for their star defender.
Speaking on the subject of Maguire, Gray said: “He’s played tonight, got himself a goal and he’s fine, the team is fine.
“I don’t think he’s disgruntled or anything, so there’s nothing to worry about. Harry’s just getting on with it.”
Manager Brendan Rodgers also recently declared that there would be a ‘cut-off point’ whereby Leicester, who would obviously need to replace Maguire, no longer listen to offers for the Englishman.
And with only two weeks left until English clubs can no longer sign players, you would suspect that United need to either pay up now or look for a cheaper alternative. It seems like Leicester’s players are convinced that their club – hardly a pushover when it comes to selling its best – will not let go of Maguire this summer.
