According to the Bristol Live, Bristol City have once again registered an interest in Chelsea’s Kasey Palmer.
The 22-year-old was on loan at Ashton Gate from January until the end of the season, where he became a fan favourite with the Robins thanks to his expert trickery and attacking mindset, while also scoring on his debut off the bench against Bolton.
Bristol City made the addition of Sammie Szmodics last week, a man who plays in the same position as Palmer, so could the Robins guarantee the Chelsea ace regular first team football?
Robins manager Lee Johnson mentioned at the end of last season that he would like a full pre-season with the 22-year-old, looking to possibly develop a better understanding of the way he plays.
However, the Mirror have reported that Palmer has decided to stay at Stamford Bridge next season as he looks to possibly force himself into the Blues side, with no additions being possible due to the year transfer ban at the club.
With his eyes on a spot in the first-team, the midfielder has travelled with the rest of the Chelsea squad to Ireland, which would cast further doubts over a move to Bristol City.
In conclusion, it seems increasingly likely that Palmer will not be going out on loan once more despite doing so four times since July 2016. If the Robins would like to make the addition of the 22-year-old, they may need to make promises with the former Premier League champions about his game time.
