Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s summer transfer budget has been revealed according to reports and it will not sit well with supporters.
The Norwegian has spoken about the need to gradually bring the squad up to standards and not make radical changes but reports had claimed he is looking for four or five signings.
That appeared to be in line with the club legend’s statement since he also insisted many of his United stars have played their last games for the club.
However, it’s now been weeks since everything was said with Solskjaer having not sold a single player with only Ander Herrera departing though that was probably the club’s decision.
Whatever is going on behind the scenes, at least so far the club have not the expectations placed on them in what is an incredibly important summer for the club’s future.
According to ESPN, Ole has only been handed £100m to revolutionise his side with any other spending dependent on the Red Devils sales.
The figure mentioned is nowhere near enough the needed amount to make big changes in today’s market and if reports are true that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will cost between £50-60m then that’s already more than half the budget gone including Daniel James’ purchase.
What makes matters worse is that Manchester United are clearly struggling to offload their unwanted stars due to their wages so it’s unlikely any money will be raised in that department.
