Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku is reportedly keen on proving himself to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite wanting a move to Italy.
The Belgian has been heavily linked with a transfer to Inter Milan, though Juventus are also said to be keeping a watchful eye.
The clinical striker has been playing second fiddle to Marcus Rashford since Solskjaer’s arrival and so a moved appeared to make sense for all parties involved.
Lukaku is a calibre of player who deserves to start on a regular basis given the accomplishments of his career but the Norwegian seems to need some convincing.
The former Everton man may just do so and if he is successful then he could be at Old Trafford for longer than anticipated.
According to The Sun, Romelu fears the Red Devils priced him out of a move and so will prove his worth to Ole by arriving for pre-season on Monday, a whole week before he was expected.
The former Molde man can always play the 26 year old alongside Rashford with the pair potentially capable of forming one of the league’s deadliest partnerships.
If anything, a two striker partnership actually suits Solskjaer’s direct, attacking tactics and so this may work out in the end.
