Reports in Italy suggest that Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny is ready to quit the club in search of a new challenge (via Sky Italia).
When Aaron Ramsey departs, Laurent Koscielny will become the longest-serving Arsenal player.
Koscielny joined the Gunners from Lorient back in 2010 and has been the club’s captain since last year.
The Frenchman is coming off the back of another impressive season after recovering from a nasty Achilles’ injury.
Now, reports suggest that the 33-year-old is ready to quit the club this summer in search of a new challenge.
Sky Italia reports that the Frenchman’s contract is expiring in 12 months’ time and has offered himself to Inter Milan.
The Serie A side reportedly declined but the Italian publication suggested that some other Italian sides could be interested in him.
It would be a huge shame to see Laurent Koscielny leave the club this summer. The Frenchman is the club captain and still a hugely important first-team player. Koscielny turns 34 later this year and won’t be around forever. However, surely the club will look to keep him for another season after his performances this term.
