Manchester United have reportedly made a move for Leicester City star James Maddison in a bid to improve their attacking options for the next season.
The Englishman has been impressive in his debut season in the Premier League with the likes of Tottenham previously chasing his signature.
Leicester are unlikely to roll over and sell one of their best stars but the youngster fits the bill in terms of the type of players United are said to be keen to sign.
Maddison can play in the attacking-midfield and central-midfield making his versatility useful as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be keen on investing in both positions.
The Norwegian has a fight on his hands but if he can wrap up the transfer it will be an impressive buy.
According to the Express, the Daily Record report that Leicester want £60m for James but the player himself has doubts over a transfer to the Red Devils due to their lack of Champions League football and concerns over his match-time.
Solskjaer can at least offer Europa League football since the Foxes didn’t qualify for any European football at all.
Maddison is also likely to walk right into Manchester United’s starting XI, particularly if Juan Mata leaves at the end of his contract this summer.
