Manchester United fans have reacted to the official announcement of Daniel James’ signing with excitement, though some have attempted to be more reserved.
The youngster is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer first signing in what is arguably the club’s most important summer since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
James has added much needed depth to United’s right-wing, an area that has been neglected for quite some time now.
Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have often been shoved out their but both have preferred more central roles.
Daniel’s potential is limitless but there have been question marks over his ability to make the leap from the Championship, leaving fans with a rather mixed reaction.

Daniel James signing the contract. What a moment for the young lad. Few weeks ago his dad passed away and now he’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
RIP. He would certainly be proud.

Really hope people don’t over hype the signing of Daniel James. Let’s just all wait and see how he does first. #mufc

Signing Daniel James for £15+3m is low risk – potential high reward
Like many United fans I know little about him other than his rapid pace and willingness to take defenders on. Appears to be a hard worker and has the mentality many managers desire 1/2#Transfergrade pic.twitter.com/ebxu20NLgU

Daniel James is a proper winger.

Solskjaer has quickly moved to address the Red Devils’ imbalanced attack as it has often been lopsided, leaning towards the left flank.
With both Lingard and Mata moving in centrally and the ageing Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young both often opting to remain in their own half, it has frequently led to a predictable attacking tactic.
Now with James on board (a natural winger), it should mean Manchester United have more variety in their attacks.
Since Ole has addressed one weakness in the squad, fans are now hopeful he’ll turn his attentions elsewhere to some more desperate positions such as the defence.
