Manchester United star Dean Henderson reportedly wants a pay raise if he is to stay at the club amid uncertainty over his future.
The youngster is highly rated at Old Trafford but given how David de Gea is unlikely to be usurped any time soon, he will have to wait for his chance.
The Spaniard could end up departing this summer given how his deal expires next year and it’s believed Henderson has been touted as his possible replacement.
The 22 year old has had an impressive season on loan with Sheffield United, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League.
It’s widely expected he will return on loan to them but only after getting his future with United sorted as he only has a year left to his current deal.
According to The Sun, Dean wants his £25k-a-week contract tripled in order to feel valued by the Red Devils as he sees his long-term future at Old Trafford.
There is an option to trigger to add a year to his current deal which the club would possible use if they feel a conclusion can’t be negotiated for the time being.
£75k does seem to be quite high for a player who’s not even going to be involved in the first-team yet but if Manchester United do feel he’s the next big thing then it does make sense to prove it.
