Reports suggest that Everton lead the list of clubs racing for the free signing of Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck (via The Standard).
It’s going to be a summer of change for Arsenal with a number of players heading for the exit door at the Emirates.
Danny Welbeck is amongst them with his contract at the club set to expire in the coming weeks.
The former Manchester United man hasn’t played in six months but seems to be making a comeback in time for the Europa League final.
Welbeck is still set to leave the club in the summer with a number of Premier League clubs keen on the 27-year-old.
The forward is being tracked by West Ham United, Crystal Palace, and Wolves but it’s Everton who reportedly lead the race for him.
It’s an interesting story and makes a lot of sense for everyone involved. Whether Arsenal should retain the services of Danny Welbeck or not is another question but for now, the Englishman is a Gunners player. Let’s hope he can make a comeback in time for the Europa League final and perhaps make an impact on the match.
