Chelsea will be in a fight to keep veteran goalkeeper Willy Caballero at the club over the summer as London rivals West Ham are eyeing up a move for the Argentine.
Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Caballero has primarily been the second choice shot-stopper and has mainly only appeared in cup competitions behind Spanish youngster Kepa.
However, the former Manchester City man is out of contract this summer, giving the Hammers a boost in securing the services of the experienced keeper.
The Blues are yet to offer Caballero a new contract at the club, but the keeper will be looking to receive more game time, so a move away from Stamford Bridge could be an option.
According to the Evening Standard, West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking to add more experience to his side and provide a solid back-up goalkeeper.
The Hammers have relied on Polish international Lukasz Fabianski for the majority of the season, but with a good number two, Pellegrini will be able to rest his starting goalkeeper in certain games.
The Blues, on the other hand, will be looking to keep the majority of their team after they were hit with a two-window transfer ban.
It’s looking likely that the club won’t have the ban postponed or frozen any time soon, which could play a role in Caballero’s Cheslea future.
