Manchester United are reportedly ready to trust Axel Tuanzebe next season despite rumours of their interest in signing a top centre-back.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be more keen on bringing in players in other positions this summer.
The right-back, right-wing, central midfield and defensive midfield roles are all considered to be more important.
Tuanzebe has never featured for Solskjaer but it appears as though he will be given a chance to shine.
United fans have been calling for the youngster to be given a shot particularly since they’re frustrated with Phil Jones and Chris Smalling‘s ability.
According to the Daily Mail, Ole will hand Axel the chance to have his breakthrough into the first-team due to his impressive loan spell at Aston Villa.
Though it makes sense to promote the academy players instead of giving the deadwood at the club long-term and expensive contracts, it doesn’t make sense to put this much pressure on the Englishman.
The Red Devils need to improve their starting XI and can keep their academy products as rotational options instead of the players who no longer show potential.
Relying on Tuanzebe to perform rather than investing in what fans feel is a much needed top centre-back doesn’t seem to be the smart decision.
