Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi has responded to rumours linking him with a summer move away from the club (via Football.London).
Ask most Arsenal fans and few will say that Shkodran Mustafi’s place at the club is guaranteed this summer.
Football.London did just that in a recent poll. It found that less than 3.2% of the club’s fan base wanted Mustafi to stay beyond the summer.
The German defender has been linked with a move to AC Milan in recent weeks but has spoken out against the rumours.
“It is odd that there are always transfer speculations,” Mustafi told the German publication Kicker.
“I am an Arsenal player and have a contract until 2021.”
Mustafi is indeed under contract until 2021 after arriving in North London from Valencia three seasons ago.
It’s for the best that Shkodran Mustafi moves on in the summer. If the club can secure a decent price tag for the World Cup winner then they would surely jump at the chance. His three seasons in North London have been disastrous and it’s time for the Gunners to move on and replace the 27-year-old.
