Reports in France suggest that Arsenal are keen to raid head coach Unai Emery’s former side PSG in the summer transfer window (via GFFN).
Some managers rely on players in the same way they rely on certain members of the coaching and backroom team.
Unai Emery seemed like one such head coach when he joined Arsenal and they were immediately linked with players like Ever Banega.
Well, it seems like Emery’s influence is being felt over another potential signing according to reports in France.
The Gunners have been linked with the Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier with word of a potential summer move.
The 27-year-old Belgian international is a versatile player who primarily operates from right-back but can play further forward and in midfield.
France Football has reported that PSG are looking for a fee in the region of €30 million but English outlets rate that figure to be significantly lower.
Either way, it’s an interesting story. Arsenal have Hector Bellerin returning at right-back so it’s clear that Thomas Meunier would not be the first choice. However, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Carl Jenkinson are expected to exit the club this summer so it would be good to get some cover in that position.
