Romelu Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, has given Manchester United fans hope by claiming executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will have a busy summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be on the lookout for four or five players in what will certainly prove to be a crucial transfer window.
Some United fans were hoping for a complete overhaul of the squad but the Norwegian has insisted he wants the changes to be more gradual.
Lukaku’s future himself is up in the air after reports emerged of Inter Milan’s potential interest in signing him.
The Belgian doesn’t seem to be completely trusted by Solskjaer who has often opted for Marcus Rashford to lead the line instead.
According to Sky Sports, Federico said: “I think Manchester United will have a lot of success in the summer bringing in players.
“There will be a lot of work for Mr Woodward but they will be able to convince the top players to come because the brand is amazing, one of the best in the world.”
When both Woodward and Ole claimed the Red Devils could still attract the top talents in the world, some fans felt it was just words used to ease their minds.
However, if an agent whose client is believed to be on his way out says the same thing then there must be some truth to it.
Hopefully Manchester United can invest whatever money they have available to them smartly rather than spending in the scattergun approach they’ve usually employed since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
