Manchester United have reportedly found a way to finally get rid of Marcos Rojo despite just handing him a contract months ago.
The Argentine is widely considered to be the most expendable centre-back at the club in what has proven to be an underwhelming defence.
Along with the former Sporting man, there is also Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all competing for two spots in the starting XI.
With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expected to offload one of the above to fund a move for other reinforcements, it makes sense that it’s Rojo who’s sold first.
At 29 years of age and a proneness to injuries he hardly has much to offer in comparison to his teammates.
According to the Mirror, the Red Devils are willing to accept a bid of just £6m in order to get Marcos’ salary off their wage bill.
If true then it makes incredibly little sense why the defender was handed a new contract in the first place.
It was believed it was to protect his value so the club could potentially move him on later but if they’re go to slash the asking price either way then it does raise question marks on the board’s decision making.
