Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has warned the club’s stars that there’s a lot of hard work ahead after they fell to a humiliating 2-0 defeat to already relegated Cardiff City.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unfortunately couldn’t give supporters a nice sendoff before the season concluded as he watched on helplessly from the sidelines.
The Norwegian has a monumental task ahead of him this summer and it’s become nearly impossible to look forward to next season with any optimism.
Fans understand that United have multiple problems and so it isn’t a case of just changing managers or even overhauling the squad.
Ferdinand was a part of one of the club’s more successful eras and was quick to point how important working hard is to winning titles.
Not the way we wanted the season to end… Work Ethic & Mentality plays a massive part in individuals & teams being successful. Lots of hard work ahead!! @ManUtd

The Red Devils’ squad has often been accused of not being mentally strong enough to challenge for anything and their regular inconsistencies is evidence of that.
However, fans have noticed just how unfit the players are as well with Solskjaer’s intense tactics taking it’s toll on them.
Hopefully a good pre-season will solve those issues and mask the squad’s weaknesses as they are rather average at the moment.
Ole must also be wishing he had a player of Rio’s ilk as the need for a quality centre-back is of top priority.
