Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Ajax star Hakim Ziyech, whose performances in the Champions League this season have seen him quickly become one of Europe’s most wanted men.
The Dutch born Moroccan has been in fine form for his club, scoring 15 goals and grabbing 15 assists in just 26 Eredivisie matches this season.
United may rightfully be weary of investing in a talent from Holland once again after signing Memphis Depay.
Then a youngster, the winger struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford but has improved tenfold since moving on.
Ziyech would be more experienced than Depay should he make the move but it will take some convincing to pry him away from Ajax.
According to the Mirror, Hakim would be available for just £25m though the Red Devils will have to fight off Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich for his signature.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer surely would’ve recognised his side’s issues at right-wing considering he has no real, natural players in that position.
Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have all played there with little to no enjoyment with all three preferring to operate more centrally.
Ziyech would be available for a fee even the Manchester United board would be happy to part with but there is a long line of suitors to compete with, making this a more difficult transfer to complete than initially believed.
