Chelsea have reportedly rejected a £10m offer from Brighton for young defender Reece James.
As reported by FanBanter Transfer Talk, Brighton are keen to sign James in the summer and have made their opening offer.
Brighton are said to have offered a fee in the region of £10m, which has now been turned down by Chelsea as they look to keep hold of the talented defender.
James is currently out on loan to Wigan in the Championship, where he has excelled at right-back and in central midfield.
He was recently named in the official Championship Team of the Season, although he was listed as a centre-back – a position he has played in once for Wigan.
The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior bow for Chelsea, after winning two FA Youth Cup trophies with the club’s under-18 side, before earning himself a loan move to Wigan in the second tier.
