Manchester United target and Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann’s sister has responded to reports linking him with a move away.
Maud Griezmann is the Frenchman’s representative and feels the rumours have been blown out of proportion.
Antoine was said to be on his way to United previously but eventually extended his contract at Atletico instead.
Jose Mourinho also ended up bringing in Alexis Sanchez and it was believed that the transfer would end any hope of a deal for the 27 year old.
The Chilean however, has failed to make an impact and rumours have surfaced claiming he will be moved on this summer, paving the way for Griezmann.
According to TeamTalk, Maud said: “That’s right, Antoine is disappointed by this elimination, since one of his objectives while staying at Atletico was to win [the Champions League] in his stadium.
“But he is the same as his team-mates, coach, officials and fans.
“It’s tiring to read new things every day about what my brother thinks and about whoever says they know what he’s thinking.
“The only people who have been managing my brother’s interests for two years are myself, my father, Alain, and our lawyer, Sevan Karian.
“If there is a club we are in contact with right now, it’s Atletico Madrid and no other.”
Manchester United’s right-wing is arguably the weakest part of their attack and there’s no doubt Griezmann would add real quality to the team.
Jadon Sancho has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with reports claiming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees it as a key position to address in the summer.
Antoine would satisfy vice-executive chairman Ed Woodward’s desire for a ‘Galactico’ signing and would certainly appeal to the club commercially.
Nonetheless, it appears it would take some doing to convince the versatile attacker to depart his beloved club.
