Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reacted to his first loss with the club, admitting the defeat to PSG was a reality check for his side.
The Norwegian helplessly watched on as his side lost 2-0 to the French champions at Old Trafford, making it quite difficult to recover from in the second leg.
United weren’t favourites for this Round of 16 clash but many expected a better display from the players.
In-game injuries to Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard cut the legs off Solskjaer’s side as PSG dealt with their attacks with ease.
The Red Devils worked tirelessly but unfortunately the French giants were too good to beat, even without Edinson Cavani or Neymar.

Although Manchester United were a little toothless in front of goal, they actually conceded weak efforts in hindsight.
Nemanja Matic can be accused of losing his man for PSG’s opener from the corner while Eric Bailly is equally guilty for doing the same against Kylian Mbappe from open play.
Barring those two defensive lapses, United were otherwise solid if unspectacular and could’ve come away with a clean-sheet.
The truth is PSG’s quality showed in the end as they went up a gear after the break with Solskjaer’s players unable to cope.
