Arsenal have learned their opponents in the last 16 of the Europa League.
The tie was a little less certain than perhaps it should have been but Arsenal eventually saw off BATE Borisov in the Europa League knockout rounds.
The Gunners saw off the Belarusian side 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium to book their place in the next round of the competition.
Arsenal progressed to the last 16 of the competition where the draw opened up and the Gunners could face any one of the remaining teams in the draw including Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Gunners were one of the last teams out of the pot and were handed a home draw against the French side Stade Rennais.
Rennes progressed to this stage of the competition after a 6-4 aggregate win over the Spanish side Real Betis.
They qualified for the competition after an impressive fifth-placed finish in Ligue 1 last season but are underperforming this time around.
The draw in full:
Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev
Eintracht Frankfurt v Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb v Benfica
Napoli v FC Salzburg
Valencia v FC Krasnaodar
Sevilla v Slavia Prague
Arsenal v Stade Rennais
Zenit v Villarreal
It’s an interesting draw for Arsenal. The Gunners will need to look out for star man Hatem Ben Arfa who currently plays for the Ligue 1 team. Let’s hope Unai Emery’s side can progress comfortably and reach the last eight.
